Night of the Storm 2

The night of the storm is a topic that I am definitely interested in and it sounds like there are a lot of opinions on the topic to consider. I would enjoy analyzing this scene and either looking at what did happen afterwards or considering what could have happened had Sab acted differently. I also think it is an interesting argument, as posted above, about whether or not he should have acted differently.

Forget about what he should have done or not done. Avellaneda, I am sure, thought about all of those things and ultimately chose to write the novel a certain way. Why? Also, an extremely interesting study would be to look at the use of weather patterns that parallel the characters' moods. There is a technique called "pathetic fallacy" that was very common to Romantic novelists, and that Avellaneda uses to her advantage throughout this work.
